Giro Mips® (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) x Spherical Technology™
The Insurgent is made for mountain biking, and as such has to offer protection against a wide range of crash scenarios. And it's here that Giro's Spherical Technology™ proves its worth.
The Spherical Technology™, powered by Mips®, sees two energy-absorbing foam layers, Giro's Progressive Layering, working akin to a ball and socket. This system allows independent movement between the layers, redirecting harmful impact energy during a crash and thus protecting your head.
With one layer dealing with high-speed impacts and the other with low-speed impacts, the Insurgent addresses both those low-speed, roll-around-in-the-dirt-type spills and more adrenaline-pumping crashes that happen when the brakes are off.

It's all very well being protected on the trails. But keeping cool while riding rowdy is also important. Wind Tunnel™ cheek pad ventilation and airflow intake vents and channelled ventilation maintain a rush of cool air to your head, keeping you cooler and fresher.
Inside, the lightweight and soft-touch padding create a comfortable fit. And the Ionic+ anti-microbial prevents bacterial build-up, preventing stinks and itches.
Roc Loc® Air DH Fit System
A secure fit is easy to get with the Roc Loc® Air DH Fit System. Single-handed adjustment is via the twist dial, giving a custom fit every time. This system also slightly suspends the helmet off your head, further enhancing airflow.
Two different cheek pads are included with each of the three sizes, allowing for a customisable fit, and are secured via a directional snap system allowing for easy removal in case of a crash.
Additional Features
The Insurgent also benefits from the Flex Gasket. This patent-pending feature along the lower edge is designed to reduce the effect of the helmet on collarbone impacts in a crash.
Visor bolts are tool-free, with an integrated Allen key receiver for ease of removal. There's also an integrated bolt hole for the mounting of action cameras underneath the visor. Capture all your best mountain bike action with ease.
